Random Tables

A good tabletop exercise runs on surprise as much as planning. Random tables are the quickest way to get it.

Chance encounters and unexpected obstacles keep the game unpredictable and push players to think creatively. This appendix collects tables covering business relationships, pandemic pathogens, AI alignment problems, and more.

Each table is a d20 or d100 list of outcomes you can roll on during play. The tables are setting-agnostic - roll on them in any scenario.
